Philadelphia Timmy Awards Names Webjunto Best Tech Workplace for Diversity

Tech in Motion recognizes the top tech workplaces in Philadelphia at the 2017 Timmy Awards

Philadelphia (October 7, 2017) Tech in Motion Philadelphia announced Webjunto as 2017’s “Best Tech Workplace for Diversity” for its Second Annual Timmy Awards, which recognizes the top workplaces for tech professionals. The tech community and an expert panel chose Webjunto, a web design and mobile application development firm, from a field of more than 150 nominees to join a list of notable North American winners such as Ellevation, Jellyvision and Illuminate Education. Tech in Motion presented Webjunto with the Timmy Awards trophy in front of an audience of more than 300 local technology influencers last night.

“We are excited to highlight Webjunto as the inaugural winner of Best Tech Workplace for Diversity in Philadelphia,” states Mandy Walker, Director of Marketing at Tech in Motion and Motion Recruitment Partners. “While this honor is a new category for 2017, the Timmy Awards have always celebrated companies with inclusive work environments where those in tech can thrive regardless of their differences – or perhaps flourish because of them. Webjunto demonstrates just this.”

“We are so proud to be able to share our story with the community,” says Liz Brown, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Webjunto. “As always, Webjunto will continue to create spaces where people of different backgrounds, identities, religions, and ability statuses can openly discuss and pursue the development of a more inclusive tech community.”

Amid presentations from host Aaron McLean, COO of Stuzo and founder of Philly Startup Leaders, the 2017 Philadelphia’s Timmy Awards recognized winners across four award categories to bring the spotlight onto the diversity and growth of the city, highlighting local tech startups, workplace diversity, management as well as work culture.

The Timmys are presented every year in tech hub cities across North America, including Boston, San Francisco and Toronto. A list of 2017 Philadelphia winners and finalists is available here. Previous winners include innovators such as Jet.com, LearnVest, Venmo, Trip Advisor, Gilt, Constant Contact, Casper and Instacart.
